Hello, my name is Alyson. I am from the UK. I was diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma, which is a soft tissue sarcoma, in early 2022.
I received some initial treatment in the UK.However, I was told that there was no further treatment that could be given to me. I wanted to explore further options, so myself and my family did a lot of research. We located the Anadolu Hospital through Health-Tourism.com. We used a coordinator (Ms.) Lal. She was very helpful, and she put us in touch with the consultants that we needed to be able to get more information about my disease and have any treatment options that were available to me.
We traveled to the Anadolu Hospital in April 2022, where further diagnostic testing was performed.

I received several treatment options. Initially, I was in the UK, I was given six months to live. Three months with chemotherapy which wasn’t something that I wanted to dwell on.
I’ll proceed with, I wanted to look at other options. Anadolu would have given me those options.
I received the treatment plan. I saw a consultant radiologist, a consultant oncologist, a consultant gynecologist, and a pulmonologist. I also received all the diagnostic tests really swiftly. Basically, I had all the MRI scans, CT scans, blood tests one day. They were recorded and ready for the consultants for the following then, so the process itself was absolutely seamless and there was no waiting, no long delays, very speedy and very professional.
One of the things that really impressed me and my family was how quickly things happened from diagnosis until treatment. It was truly quick and efficient with dedicated staff. We moved quickly towards my treatment options. The efficiency made a huge difference to my recovery, and I'm feeling very positive!
I’ve had a whole team around me. The treatment I’ve had has been amazing. I received targeted radiotherapy.The team have looked at any other options that could be available to me,systemic treatments etc. These weren't offered to me in the UK, so I feel that we really made the best move by coming and finding the Anadolu Hospital. It’s very easy, the staff are very supportive and very knowledgeable. We’ve enjoyed very good treatment and the care I’ve received is second to none. I would certainly recommend the Anadolu Hospital to anybody exploring other options.
I received my treatment. I’m continuing to come back every three months for diagnostic checks. At the moment, everything is going really well.
The care I’ve received is fantastic and I would recommend anybody exploring other options to approach the Anadolu. It’s very easy, very straightforward and very well supported.
There are no language difficulties. Everybody either speaks English or translators are available to translate, so that shouldn’t be a worry.
It's been 3 years now since the treatment at Anadolu - and I am still here! I was emotional, now just strong!
Choosing this hospital was a turning point for me. It's where I felt safe, it's where I felt listened to, and where I felt that I was receiving the best treatment this empowered me to fight!
Be your own advocate! No one understands your journey better than you! The options are yours to seek; so ask questions, seek advice, seek second opinions, and demand the best for yourself!
