The Beginning of the Challenge

Mr. Kevin Brian initially experienced acute, shooting pain in his left hip following prolonged periods of driving. By the year 2020, the discomfort had intensified to such an extent that walking a mere block or ascending stairs became excruciating. In 2021, he began to notice similar deterioration in his right hip, which severely hindered his ability to sustain an active lifestyle.

Temporary interventions like PRP and hyaluronic acid injections offered only minimal relief. In pursuit of additional assistance, Kevin explored chiropractic sessions; however, these attempts failed to tackle the underlying issue of his condition.

Seeking a permanent resolution to his frustrations, Kevin sought the expertise of orthopedic specialists in Kuwait. Although surgery was advised, the local medical facilities were limited to conducting one hip replacement at a time, necessitating a month-long recovery interval between surgeries. This extended timeline was impractical for Kevin, who was keen to restore his complete mobility.

A significant recommendation followed: to consider the specialized services of Turan & Turan Health Group located in Bursa, Turkey. Renowned for its cutting-edge methods in orthopedic treatment and its focus on hip replacements, the clinic provided the possibility of undergoing a bilateral hip replacement, enabling the treatment of both hips within a few days of one another.

The surgeries took place only a few days apart. Notably, Kevin was able to walk on the same day as each procedure, utilizing a walker for support. One week following his bilateral hip replacement, the changes in Kevin were striking. He was able to walk steadily and without pain, a sensation he had not felt in many years.

Kevin, in reflecting on his journey, conveyed his appreciation for selecting Turan & Turan Health Group. From the initial consultations to the conclusion of his treatment, each phase was meticulously executed with a focus on the patient. He valued the commitment of the orthopedic specialists and staff, who prioritized his comfort and comprehension of the procedure.

I'm 44 years old. I look like I'm 30, but I should not be walking like that, feeling like that. We're going to do the left hip tomorrow and the right hip on Monday. They're going to have me restored. I have not faith, not belief—I know I'm going to be okay.

My name is Kevin, Kevin Brian. I work with the Air Force, theU.S. Air Force, in Kuwait as a SharePoint administrator and a web developer.

The problem started when I noticed pain in my left hip in late 2019. It was a slight pain, just sharp, shooting pain after driving for maybe 40 minutes. 2020, that's when it really started making me very uncomfortable. Afterwalking maybe one block and difficulty walking up the stairs, and I was thinking it was something else. But 2021, the right hip also started giving me a little, but the left one was worse.

I started with PRP and hyaluronic acid injections. They seemed to help, but that was not going to be a fix. I saw a chiropractor for maybe six or seven sessions, got an X-ray and an MRI, and realized a chiropractor could really cause some serious damage.

Then I happened upon the last location, which is Germania Clinic, and I met with Dr. Yousef. We did another X-ray. The previous doctor told me, "Hey, you're too young for a hip replacement. Wait until you're65 for surgery." What sense does that make? What am I going to be doing at65 but trying to spend time with friends and grandkids, right? I know I need the surgery now so I can go back to living a more active life.

I want to ride bikes, rollerblade, snowboard, play tennis, soccer, and basketball. I have a young son; he's nine years old. There are things I want to do with him, things I want to show him. This is going to provide me with a better opportunity to show him certain things instead of just telling him, I can show him.

I'm now in Turkey. I'm excited about the surgery. After meeting the doctor, I felt great, and I mean that sincerely I felt great. we had a story we shared the same experience we've been to the same place. I know he knows his job, and he's more concerned with how comfortable I am with what's about to happen tomorrow. I can say that I am in the right place.

The professionalism and the expertise. I felt like each person that came and spoke with me, whether it was the physician, the nurse, or the doctor. They came with information to the point that I didn't have any questions. I got here, we started doing the tests, getting prepped for surgery.Surgery is tomorrow. Now I'm here at Turan Turan to get right. I'm ready!

My doctor told me, "You have to where to do the left hip tomorrow and the right hip on Monday. They're going to have me restored."I have not faith, not belief; I know I'm going to be okay.

It's been one week since I had the left hip replaced—last Thursday—and it's been three days since I had the right hip replaced, which happened on Monday. Everything went smoothly. When I started walking, it wast he same day. I used the walking aid, a walker. Then you take the left foot first, then you take the right. There was no difference. Everything was balanced, both hips were even, and I was able to walk.

I had an opportunity to do the procedure in Kuwait, but they were only able to do one at a time, and I would have had to wait one month todo the other. My orthopedic doctor in Kuwait, he suggested that if I wanted to do the bilateral at the same time or close to come here because the new procedure the facility. They specialize in hip replacement, so I was not seeing a general surgeon. I was seeing an orthopedic surgeon, a specialist with hip, and ofcourse, I came to the best place.

I want to say at the beginning, I felt like, I missed out, you know on a lot. I was thinking to myself "Why did I have to wait this long to do the procedure?". But I waited this long to do the procedure because I had to go to the right place.

The fact that it happened in 2024!

I've been telling my colleagues and my family members,"Hey, I came to the right place." Everything went well. Everyone was respectful, very helpful. They asked me every hour, "Are you okay? Do you need something? Do you need help?" No, I'm fine, but the staff was great. The facility, the procedure. I'm just glad that I came here to specialists who specialize in hip replacement. I know I'm home! The fact that it happened in 2024!

I look forward to riding bikes with my son, rollerblading with my son… All the stuff that I missed out on for the past six years. I couldn't do it. I'm looking forward to more of an active lifestyle getting back to the things that I enjoy doing. I know, I got the best result!
